About Us...

Sitting quietly on the road between Tewkesbury and Cheltenham, the 'Gloucester Old Spot' can easily be missed by those rushing past on the way to work or on the way into town. To miss the Old Spot, however, is to miss out!

The pub itself is much bigger than it first appears from the outside, with its sprawling baronial dining room and cosy bar, complete with nooks and crannies to sit and watch the world go by. The Old Spot is about an escape from the hustle and bustle of the outside. With roaring open log fires, friendly staff, a variety of Real Ales, and cider along with a range of soft drinks including Elderflower Presse, Fruit juices, and Ginger beers, The Old Spot is a great place to meet with friends and family, to chat, to laugh and to enjoy.

Our chefs create all their dishes using fresh local ingredients and cooking dishes from scratch. Not a fan of mushrooms? Vegan? Gluten Free? Pregnant? Not a problem. Our chefs are more than happy to adjust the dish as you would like it, given that they have the time and the ingredients. Fancy a dish and its not on our menu? Our Chefs will do their best to produce it for you.

We are proud that after only 2 years, the 'Gloucester Old Spot' can be found as a main entry in The Good Pub guide and in The AA pub guide. Thank you to all our customers who have eaten with us and recommended us to others. We have also become Finalists in 'The Taste of Gloucestershire Awards' for 'Best Pub Food'!

There is still a long way to go in our plans for 'The Old Spot', we hope to improve the entrance, garden, patio and car parks to allow greater enjoyment of the pub in the summer months.

Our 'Other' Pub-

The Owners Simon and Kate have owned The Royal Oak in Prestbury Cheltenham for 12 years. In that time they have striven to build the business solely on its reputation, we know we are only as good as our last meal. The Royal Oak is privileged to be the only Cheltenham pub ever to be listed as a main entry in THE GOOD PUB GUIDE, (although we have since joined them!) and CAMRA have recommended The Oak annually in their Beer, Cider and Food Guides for many years too.

In this, the second pub, we hope to offer similar levels of hospitality, but with a different food offer; fantastic Grilled local meats and of course Rare Breed Pork dishes too.
Hopefully you will like our great ales and traditional ciders and perry!
