Christmas 2020 FAQs

Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to the restrictions we face this Christmas. Here at The Old Spot, we are being optimistic and hoping that we will be able to have the best Christmas possible after a pretty tough year.

Have you got a Christmas Menu?

Yes, it is now available and features Gloucestershire food! To see, please click on the link above.

When will we be able to dine off the new Christmas menu?

Christmas will be arriving at Piff’s Elm on Friday 27th November. We will serve the menu daily for lunch and dinner services, Monday to Saturday. Sundays we will be showcasing our Traditional Sunday Roasts!

Do we need to book a table?

Yes please, and the sooner the better! It is always good to know how many guests to expect through our doors for staffing and stock levels. This also will avoid any disappointment on arrival if there are no available tables.

Do we have to pay a deposit to secure our booking?

No deposits and no pre-orders, unless the Government increased party bookings to more than 10 persons

What are you current COVID guidelines? (07/10/20)

All members of you party must arrive with a face mask as you will need to wear one when you are not at your table.

Government guidelines allow up to 6 people inside or outside from multiple households, but no greater than 6 unless they are from the same household/supportive bubble.

Please note: the ‘bubble’ is a household plus a single adult who lives alone.  That person can join a household to create a bubble of more than 6, but that is the only household they can ‘bubble’ up with.  So, for example your Grandmother might join your household of 6 and in that case 7 people can dine.

In line with government track and trace system we are obliged to keep your contact details for 21days.

To ensure we are COVID secure we are asking that guests do the following:

Please do not visit us if you feel unwell or have any symptoms of the Corona Virus.

Please ensure you use sanitiser on arrival and continue to maintain regular hand washing/sanitising whilst you are here.

Please do not arrive earlier than your booking time, this is so we can stagger arrivals.

Please ensure you adhere to social distancing of 2m where possible and remain at your table during your visit other than to use the toilet facilities.

Please follow any queuing systems that we have in place, these are to protect you and our staff.

The public bar is not open to customers but we will conduct table service.

We prefer to take card payments but can accept cash.

Lastly we ask that you are patient with us, these new normal are going to take a bit of adjusting to for all of us.  We will endeavour to make your pub experience as enjoyable and ‘normal’ as possible, whilst giving you full confidence that everything we have introduced in respect of the virus is there for everyone’s protection
