Sometimes returning to old haunts after several years is not a good idea. This re-visit seven years after we moved away was definitely NOT a disappointment.

We visited as a family for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed it. It was a warm, sunny day and we sat outside in the garden, which has a lovely atmosphere. The food was excellent with generous but sensible portion sizes.

Visited to try the latest menu offering, what my wife and I ordered was excellent, food is imaginative and beautifully cooked and well presented, together with great service its a must go to establishment. Can't wait to return.

There were 5 of us there for lunch. The service was very good, but the food was even better, 3 people had fish and chips, the fish was so big it could hardly fit on the plate! I had steak and ale pie, it was big and deliceous, the other person had a pork bap also very good. Will definately go again!

I can honestly say the Sunday lunches here are amazing…. and I am a tough critic! We visited for the first time, and there is a jaw dropping moment when you enter the truly dramatic baronial hall!

We visited The Old Spot for a casual lunch as a group of friends. The food was delicious, and our server was fantastic and couldn't do enough for us!
We'd recommend visiting The Old Spot if you're in the area and looking for a good atmosphere and brilliant food.

Just to say a massive thank you to all the team at the Gloucester Old Spot. Following my wife’s funeral last week we rented out the dinning hall for the wake. I spoke with multiple staff on the run up to the day and they arrange to personalise the room beforehand and guided me through the menu options.

Booked a large party of family to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. The team couldn't have been better ! From the initial booking, to leaving the pub, we enjoyed everything. Desserts were delicious and drinks were replenished as needed. The birthday cake was presented with a flourish and a chorus of "Happy Birthday".

Came in on a Monday lunch and it was busy and bustling. Impressive old building with many low clearances and lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. The menu left me struggling to choose between good options. The food was ace, especially the venison suet pudding!!

Visited a few times while holidaying in the area, has food a couple of times which was delicious. Despite being a very busy restaurant we were still made to feel welcome on the occasions we weren’t ordering food. Staff are attentive and friendly. Look forward to visiting again.

Dropped in without a booking able to fit us in with a table for two. Food superb obviously cooked by a chef he knows what they are doing and at very reasonable prices for quality food. Highly recommended will be returning soon. Thank you to all the team.

Booked a table here last minute for a Monday lunch. The lunch was absolutely delicious. I had the beef pie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert and both were amazing. Definitely the best meal out we’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back! Lovely service too 🙂

Haven’t visited here for 20 years but great to be back. Excellent menu. All dishes were very high quality and tasty. Really enjoyed the Local Game Mixed Grill. Will certainly be back on a Thursday pie and pud night.

What a great find. Great menu. Lovely 'old' dining area. The food was excellent- two of us had the Sea Bass with rice & a curry sauce (amazing), one had the fish & chips (fantastic) and one had the Goats Cheese & Beetroot Tart (delicious).

Incredible food and such nice staff! The food is so very different to anywhere else, it's not your standard restaurant/pub food. Great presentation. The staff are all so very caring, happy to have a chat, make recommendations, very polite and friendly.
